Name: Outcast - The Lost Paradise
Genre: action/adventure
Developer: Appeal
Publisher: Atari
Platforms: PC, Playsation 2
Release Date: canceled in 2002
Although Outcast was no big commercial success, Appeal got the job to develop a sequel. This time empowered by polygons and developed for several platforms to reach a wider range of potential customers. Inspired by "Metal Gear Solid 2" Infogrames and Appeal decided to lay the emphasis on the action part. Yves Grolet (one of the three founders of Appeal) wasn't comfortable with this arcade/action style and left the studio. Problems began. A bit without direction the development of Outcast 2 (The Lost Paradise) slowed down. Infogrames wasn't happy with the results and so the project was laid aside.
After a short time of working on other projects, Appeal ran out of money and went bancrupt. The studio was closed and so it seemed the sequel to Outcast was buried, too.
